Thursday

It's at home facial time♥

Well I wanted to start off by saying that as I was growing up I never had skin "issues" I actually had amazing skin but, like all good things that came to an end around 2 years ago. I started getting break outs on my face it was like I was going through puberty at 29 instead of at 13-17 like most girls so clearly I was not so happy and was like really at 29 are you serious??? Finding a solution to deal with your new or old skin "issues" can be tough when you don't know what to use so what I recommend is to read up on your skin type your skin "issues" and, anything that may be helpful to you in anyway shape or form. Not all of us in this world live a lavish life where we can go to the spa and get facials every week like in the real housewives of every county they show lol, so I like most housewives turn to at home facials with everyday things you probably already have in your home already. FYI {you don't have to be a housewife to follow these tips hahaha!!!} Lets face if our ancestors had at home recipes for almost everything and they made it work why can't we in this day and age? So lets do it and get ready to get your facial on literately lol I will post some recipes that I found on the internet "my best friend" some for oily skin types and some for dry since those are the most common issues we woman face, either we are to dry in the face or we are too oily.
I will also post some pics of my self so you can see Nazvie is a very brave girl lol. I hope you enjoy and as always thanks for reading. Please feel free to ask me a question or leave a comment and I will always try to get back to you as soon as I can.

{Face Mask for Dry Skin With Cucumber & Aloe Vera)
This simple aloe vera face mask for dry skin hydrates and soothes. The cooling and cleansing cucumber softens and makes your skin suppler

What do you need:

2 tablespoons Aloe Vera gel
1/2 Cucumber

How to do it:

Peel the cucumber, take out the seeds and cut it in pieces. Put the cucumber pieces together with the aloe vera in a food processor and blend them until you have a nice smooth paste

Spread the paste gently and equally with your fingertips on your clean face and neck: keep the eye area clear

Now lie down, relax and leave the mask on for 30 minutes

Finally wash it off with cold water; pat your skin dry with a clean towel

{Face Mask for Dry Skin With Butter, Mango & Egg Yolk}
A moisturizing face mask for dry skin. Butter and mango are full of vitamin A that's exactly why they are very useful on wounded and sunburned sensitive dry skin

What do you need:

1/2 Mango
1 tablespoon saltless Butter
1 Egg yolk
1/2 teaspoon Chamomile oil
1/2 teaspoon Apricot oil

How to do it:

Skin the mango half and cut it in smaller pieces, put these together with the butter, egg yolk, chamomile oil and Apricot oil in a food processor and blend them until you have a nice smooth paste

Spread the paste gently and equally with your fingertips on your clean face and neck: keep the eye area clear

Now lie down, relax and leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes

Then wash it off with a soft warm wash cloth and warm water, end with a splash of cold; pat your skin dry with a clean towel. Finally apply a moisturizer, this way you "seal" your skin to keep the water inside

{Face Mask for Dry Skin With Banana, Heavy cream, Honey & Oatmeal flour}
A nourishing face mask for dry skin, especially useful on aging skin because the heavy cream effectively takes on wrinkles

What do you need:

1 Banana
2 tablespoons fresh Heavy Cream
1 tablespoon organic Honey
1 tablespoon Oatmeal flour
Mineral or Spring water

How to do it:

arm up the honey until it becomes liquid (not too hot!) by putting it in a small glass or metal bowl which is immersed in hot water. Mash the banana to a pulp, then add the honey, oatmeal flour and heavy cream, mix it well. Add water until you have a smooth paste that will stay on your face without it running

Massage/ spread the paste gently and equally with your fingertips on your clean face and neck; keep the eye area clear

Now lie down, relax and leave the mask on for 15 minutes

Then wash it off with alternately cold and warm water and end with a splash of cold; pat your skin dry with a clean towel. Finally apply a moisturizer, this way you "seal" your skin to keep the water inside

Oily skin is troublesome to deal with most of the time. This skin type is often prone to pimples. However, if one can balance the oil levels of the face, it makes the skin look beautiful and smooth. In order to obtain that, you need proper cleansing, toning and moisturizing regimen. You must also know about an appropriate face mask which reduces oil levels. Following are some homemade facial masks for oily skin.

{Oily Skin:Strawberry and Yogurt Face Mask}
Take 4 – 6 properly washed strawberries in a small bowl and use a fork to mash them. Later, add a tablespoon of yogurt to it and mix them well. Make a smooth paste and apply it on the face evenly. Let it stay for about 15 – 20 minutes and rinse with cold water.

{Oily Skin:Avocado and Egg Face Mask}
Take an egg white in a bowl and thoroughly beat it. Mash half an avocado such that you get a soft pulp. Now put beaten egg, mashed avocado and a tablespoon of lime in a blender. Mix it well and apply this mixture on the face. Allow it to sit on the face for a few minutes and rinse it off. This gives you a clear and smooth skin.

{Oily Skin:Cucumber and Oatmeal face Mask}
Take a small cucumber piece, one tablespoon of yogurt and a cup of oatmeal. Chop cucumber into small pieces and put it in a blender. Put yogurt and oatmeal also in the blender and make a smooth paste. Apply this on the face and leave it for 10 minutes and rinse. This cleanses the skin pores effectively.

Face scrubs are awesome for exfoliating the skin and are also needed to take off all that dead unwanted skin so I posted a couple of recipes on that as well.

{Face Scrubs:Sugar-And-Spice Scrub}
This facial scrub really is as good as it smells -- good for your skin, that is!
Ingredients

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup sweet almond oil
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 Tbsp ground oatmeal
1 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight jar for further use. Scrub face with mixture 2-3 minutes, rinse, and pat dry.

{Face Scrubs:Oatmeal Exfoliating Scrub}

A quick and easy exfoliator for beauty emergencies!
Ingredients

2 heaped tsp fine oatmeal
1 tsp baking soda

Instructions

Mix oatmeal and baking soda, add enough water to make a thick paste. Rub over face, rinse, pat dry.

{Face Scrubs:Citrus Scrubbing Grains}

Follow this invigorating scrub with a good moisturizer for optimum results.
Ingredients

1/2 cup dried orange peel
1/2 cup dried lemon peel
1 cup cooked oatmeal
1 cup blanched almonds

Instructions

Place all ingredients in a blender and whirl until reduced to fine powder. Store in an airtight container for future use. Moisten grains in the palm of your hand with a little water, scrub over face in circular motions, rinse with warmish water, pat face dry.

Learning how to make your eyes ‘pop’

Complimentary colours for your eyes are usually the opposite of your eye colour. Try not to pick colours that exactly match your eye colour. Opposite colours to your eye colour will make your eyes stand out or ‘pop’ for a more dramatic look. If you perfectly match your eyeshadow to your eye colour, your eyes look will look boring and lifeless.

When you are choosing eye makeup colours you must consider your skin tone and your eye colour. You need to decide whether you have a cool or warm skin tone. The best colours to choose for you will depend on this.

To find out what skin tone you have:
- Find a piece of silver fabric and a piece of gold fabric. Hold each fabric next to the veins in your wrists. If your veins have a blue tone next to the silver, you are cool toned. If your veins have a yellow, green or brown tone next to the gold, you are warm toned.
- If you can wear BLACK without looking washed out, you are cool toned. If you do look washed out wearing black, you are warm toned.
- If you look better in pure white rather than ivory, you are cool toned. If you look better in ivory, you are warm toned.
- Test your jewellery. If you look better in silver, you are cool toned. If you look better in gold, you are gold toned.

Cool toned:
Skin tone: olive, rosy brown color or a light rosy color, fair/ medium rosy.
Hair colour: dark, black, blond, or any of the brown tones except a golden brown.
Eyes: blue, green or hazel.

Warm toned:
Skin tone: golden or medium fair.
Hair Colour: golden brown, red or strawberry blond.
Eyes: hazel, dark or medium brown

The Colour Wheel:
Have you ever noticed your eyes appear to change colour depending on what makeup, clothing, and hair colour you have next to them.
Colours on the opposite side of the colour wheel make the best contrasting colours. Match your eye colour on the colour wheel and choose colours on the opposite side of the colour wheel. These colours will enhance your eye colour and make them pop.
The intensity of colour you use will depend on your skin tone. Some colours can be both warm and cool depending on the lightness, darkness or intensity of the colour. If you place yellow at the top of the colour wheel, the yellow and red shades are warm. The blue and green shades are cool. Violet and yellow can be either cool or warm depending on their intensity. So you can choose colours to compliment your cool or warm tones.

BROWN EYES: People with brown eyes are really lucky and have a wide selection of shades that will suit them. Almost any colour will suit brown eyes. Greens, champagnes, bronzes, golds, browns and blues are fantastic shades for brown eyes. Beige, peach, corals, copper, pinks, pale purples pinky purples and browns are great too. Brown eyes also look great in grey, plums as well as burnt oranges.

BLUE EYES: Browny/oranges work best. Try oranges, coppers, golds, gray, violet, purple, deep blue and silver. To emphasize blue eyes use brown and rose shadows. Warm shades will contrast the coldness of blue eyes and make them really pop.
Avoid aqua shades that will compete with your blue eye colour.

GREEN EYES: Brown, light beiges to deep chocolate browns look great with green eyes. Purples and pinks and reds also complement green eyes. Light green can also be very flattering when applied lightly.

HAZEL EYES: People with hazel coloured eyes are the luckiest out of all the eye colours. Anything goes with hazel eyes. Avoid using lots of blue as it can dull down hazel eyes and have the opposite effect of what you hope to achieve. Try neutrals, browns, bronzes, greens, purples, Gold, pink, lavender, plum, khaki, mocha, soft pink, teal. Purple shades contrast hazel eyes making them pop and gives them a dramatic look.
